DataStu was born from a side hustle.

Suddenly, I could not handle my freelancing clients alone, and then I realised that I needed a team, a registered name and an identity. This was happening in the middle of 2022.

BOOM. We registered a company under the name DataStu Marketing LLP, ‘Data’ for all the prospect data we are dealing with, and ‘Stu’ for the studio. The studio is for data and marketing. Awesome, right?

Interestingly, our name was a rhyming of a common Indian blessing, ‘तथास्तु’ (Thathastu), which used to convey blessings. Basically, we wish to be a blessing to our customers for their marketing needs.  I always wanted to start a business, but I had no intention of starting a marketing agency.

It started with the day I left my engineering job at Haier Electronics. That day, I realised that engineering was not for me. Later, I decided to pursue a career as a writer. Unfortunately, writing stories was not enough to pay bills. Then, I learned that I can get paid for blog writing. I started my first job as a content writer at a B2B marketing agency in Pune, India. It’s where I developed my interest in writing for marketing. Marketing fascinated me, as it was directly related to human behaviour and storytelling.

During my job, I was lucky enough to have a boss as a mentor and a team as friends. A pandemic struck human civilization in 2020, shocking it. Like many of you, I had to work from home. This was something new for me, as well as a life-changing experience.I always procrastinate my dream of being an entrepreneur, but the pandemic taught me that life is uncertain and all you have to do is fulfil your dreams.

I left my job and started freelancing. I struggled to get my first clients. But at some point, I experienced a healthy flow of income and clients that I could not handle myself.It was where I needed a team and a system that could help clients.DataStu was born.
